Reporting Animal Crimes and Promoting Animal Welfare

Welcome to Malaysian Animal Crime Transparency, or MyAct, an initiative established by the Malaysia Animal Association to serve as a vital resource for animal lovers and advocates. MyAct serves multiple purposes, including guiding and educating the community on the proper channels for reporting animal crimes and cruelty, raising awareness about animal welfare, and analyzing animal-related incidents to understand the factors, perpetrators, and victims involved.
Reporting Animal Crimes
Our Animal Crime Complaint Channel receives a significant number of reports daily. To facilitate your reporting process and ensure that we can effectively address animal cruelty cases, please follow these steps.

MyAct exclusively accepts complaints related to animal cruelty crimes. If you suspect or witness any form of animal cruelty, we encourage you to report it through our platform.

Please note that our communication medium is primarily in the Malay language to ensure clarity and accuracy in reporting.

When submitting a complaint, provide as much detail as possible regarding the crime. This information helps us thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action.

Domestic Animal Crimes

This category involves crimes such as the killing, abuse, cruelty, and neglect of domestic animals, including pets, strays, alley animals, livestock, and companion animals. Relevant legislations include the Animal Welfare Act 2015 and the Animal Act 1953 (Amendment 2013).

Wildlife Crimes

Wildlife crimes encompass illegal hunting, killing, persecution, sale, and trafficking of wild animals and endangered species. Laws governing this category include the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 and the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008.

Misconduct of Veterinary Practitioners

This category deals with issues related to veterinary practitioners, including overcharging, fraud, malpractice, and negligence in the handling of animals during treatment. The Veterinary Doctors Act 1974 governs this area.

Pet Food Sales Scam

et food-related crimes involve brand counterfeiting, inaccurate declarations of animal food products, fraud in food and supplement products, unsafe animal food or supplements, and doubtful animal food labeling. The Animal Food Act 2009 addresses matters in this category.
